About Harwood Marine
Harwood Marine is situated on the Clarence River NSW Australia.
The original Harwood Slipway and Engineering company constructed a Slipway at the present site in 1969 with a capacity of 1000 t and 50 mtr LOA to service the marine vessels of the cane and fishing industries and racing yacht design & construction. During 1970’s and 1980’s numerous Australian Navy and Army vessels were serviced at this site for major refits and repairs. Tugs and barges were also constructed as new builds as well as yachts and cargo vessels. The present owners have had a working association with the site since 1979 and eventually purchased the property freehold in 1992. In 2006 the slipway was extended to 2,500 tonne capacity
The expertise and facilities are complimented by being situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Australia near the towns of Yamba and Iluka, nestled between the coastal reserves of Bundjalung and Yuraygir national parks at the mouth of the Clarence River.
